Simple to make, although you do need an ice cream maker. Features fresh berries for a real summer time treat.
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup MacLeod Merlot
12 oz fresh strawberries
6 oz fresh raspberries
Mix sugar and water in saucepan, heat over low, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add to merlot in medium bowl.
Puree all berries in food processer until smooth. Strain through fine mesh strainer to remvoe seeds.
Add strained berry puree to Merlot and sugar mixture. Blend well and chill in refrigerator until cold.
Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufactures instructions.
Serve garnished with fresh mint and a cookie!
